What's an Intranet?


An Intranet is just one or more Web Servers and Web Sites on your own Local Area Network (LAN). Each Web Site contains your commonly accessed documents, reports, procedures and policies as HTML or Web Pages. Any PC, Macintosh or UNIX desktop computer with a Web Browser can read those Web Pages through the same standard network communications protocol - TCP/IP!
